BOOK REVIEW The first edition, published in color, and titled "Pinewood" is now available. This is a history of the Pinewood Derby as told by its creator Don Murphy. Don retired from the scouting scene years ago and just recently found out that his idea had grown to include over 100 million Cub Scouts world wide. The Pinewood Derby began in a small Scout House in Manhattan Beach, California in 1953. Thanks to Cubmster Gary McAulay, who discovered that Don Murphy is still around, the story now can be told. The book is 8-1/2 x 11 inches and contains never before published photographs of the first Pinewood Derby. It includes the Winners of the first race, the original Official Rules from 1953, the Track and Car Plans, personal stories and much more including answers to the following questons: This book is a Scouting treasure for your library. The cost of this colorful table top book is $14.95 plus $4.00 p&h. California residents please add sales tax. Send your check or money order to:
